More Advances in 3D Fabrication

Here is another step forward in on-demand fabrication.

This is PWDR, an open-source 3D printer.

This is PWDR, an open-source 3D printer.

You can find all sorts of information about them on their Github page, but essentially what you have is an ink-jet based printer that uses powdered materials instead of plastic filament to produce objects.  At a mere $1400 this is a great entry into the market, especially since it has the capability for printing in multiple colors.

Size-wise it’s not the best system out there, but it is open-source which means that the best minds on the planet will be working on it in their spare time for free.  Which is going to lead to amazing leaps forward for the entire industry.

It is such and exciting time to be alive.
